NEC article 406.12(1) states that all dwelling units, boathouse, mobile homes, manufactured homes, including attached and detached garages, accessory buildings and common areas must be "Tamper - resistant" Receptacles. These are life saving devices! Something you definitely want if you have children. Being said, the importance of this code, most homes built after 2014 have these devices already. As it would have been something a licensed electrician would have installed per the industry standard. Something else our consultation will check of you do live in a older home.
